Joshua – Commissioned by Spark & Echo

It was a pleasure to act with John Egan in his short film ‘Joshua’. John was commissioned by Spark & Echo Arts to create piece of theater inspired by the book of Joshua from the bible. After sitting with it for a while the piece it shifted from a theatrical piece to a short film, and became a story about going to war and the rhetoric and personal cost of that decision. It’s an inspiring piece realized in three scenes. I was thankful for the generous help of Liam Dick, Shem Ogweno, behind the camera and Francis J. Spieler for playing the father.

This is Shem, sitting in for Mr. Spieler while we settle on a frame.

CA7CH

Introducing the smallest live-streaming wearable camera, CA7CH is letting you share your life with the world, as it happens.  With initial funding raised from friends and family, the team brought together miniature hardware, optics, mobile software and cloud technology to create the world’s first truly social wearable camera. Initial prototypes were completed in late November of 2013.
I was hired as the actor and Director of Photography for this commercial for CA7CH’s Win a Trip to NYC campaign.

Fumes is being submitted!

We did it!  “Fumes,” the short film we shot in February 2013, is complete!  I submitted it to the Sundance Film Festival yesterday.  There will be a few tweaks to the credit graphics before it’s released to everyone who contributed to our IndieGoGo campaign, but stayed tuned because it’s coming shortly.  The poster is also currently in the design stages with my talented sister and graphic design artist, Shelby Lee Jones.

I spent one beautiful day out on Pirate’s Cove in Port Jefferson, NY as the Director of Photography for my first music video for Big Dipper.  I was hired by TDC Productions to come on-board and work with the crew and got to work with my friend, Nick Rubino-Bradway and play with his Movi for the day.  It was a great day, fun people, and I’m looking forward to seeing the final video.  I only got a little sunburned unlike some of my colleagues.

“Reunion”

I was the Director of Photography of “Reunion”, a production of Alpha and Omega Films, over May 2nd and 3rd in Tarrytown, NY.  This is the first time I’ve been hired just to DP, which was an exciting opportunity.  I’m looking forward to working with them again.

Operation Exodus

I’m honored to have created a promo video for an organization called Operation Exodus.  Operation Exodus strives to inspire students in poor neighborhoods of New York City to achieve goals that no one expects them to reach, through tutoring and mentoring programs we offer in the Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods. Exodus has also become a home away from home for many of their students, rather than just a place to study and learn.

I directed and edited the following video for their fundraising campaign:

Spark & Echo Band videos

I’ve been busy working on videos for Spark & Echo Band.  We started last fall and just finished shooting the last one.  There have been delays in our work due to the birth of their son and my busy days with my own daughter.  I’m excited for their release later this year.

Trailer Cash

A film festival for films that are still in production.  It was the brain child of Lucas Van Engen, a New York based actor who was looking for a way to get to know more up and coming indie filmmakers. But it turned into some more. . . Much more. So in it’s second year, I am helping Lucas expand and grow the event.

Trailer Cash is an annual party for filmmakers with a chance to win a cash prize toward any video-based project in development that needs funding. We screen teasers, or “trailers,” of films and new media in all stages of production and award a donation to the winner to help complete the project.

Trailer Cash 2013 is set to kick off at McHale’s Bar and Grill (251 W. 51st Street New York, NY) 7-10 pm on Monday, September 23rd, 2013.

Last year the winning project brought home $1000 cash prize to add to their budget. This year there will be 3 ways for those projects invited to the party to win, including: A juried prize, an audience award, and all the proceeds from the onsite raffle given to the project of the ticket purchasers choice, so it’s highly unlikely for a project in the festival to walk away empty handed.

Check out the site and if you have a video project in production this fall think about submitting to us to help raise some operational funds for you.
