A film festival for films that are still in production. It was the brain child of Lucas Van Engen, a New York based actor who was looking for a way to get to know more up and coming indie filmmakers. But it turned into some more. . . Much more. So in it’s second year, I am helping Lucas expand and grow the event.
Trailer Cash is an annual party for filmmakers with a chance to win a cash prize toward any video-based project in development that needs funding. We screen teasers, or “trailers,†of films and new media in all stages of production and award a donation to the winner to help complete the project.
Trailer Cash 2013 is set to kick off at McHale’s Bar and Grill (251 W. 51st Street New York, NY) 7-10 pm on Monday, September 23rd, 2013.
Last year the winning project brought home $1000 cash prize to add to their budget. This year there will be 3 ways for those projects invited to the party to win, including: A juried prize, an audience award, and all the proceeds from the onsite raffle given to the project of the ticket purchasers choice, so it’s highly unlikely for a project in the festival to walk away empty handed.
Check out the site and if you have a video project in production this fall think about submitting to us to help raise some operational funds for you.
